Our Story
It's just the two of us.
We're Chad and Holly. We started Honor in 2020, during lockdown, stirring the first batch of beard butter in our apartment in Boston. We moved to Texas the next year, and we've made every jar by hand since.
Chad has degrees in science, business and graphic design, and spent fifteen years in aerospace. Holly spent hers teaching young kids. Neither of us planned on making beard butter. But a science background and a lot of patience turn out to be a good fit for small batches that come out the same every time. Chad still designs every label and box, and Holly makes sure what's inside lives up to them.
Why we give
Addiction runs through both of our families. We've watched what it costs when men feel they can't say they're struggling. So from the first jar, 5% of every order has gone to men's mental health. Every order comes with an Impact ID, so you can see where your 5% goes.
We call it The Honor Initiative: honor one, give to many.
We're not veterans ourselves, and we've never claimed to be. But many of the projects we fund serve people who are.
What small means for you
- Four signature scents, always in stock: Dapper, Vanilla Sky, Rickhouse and Buck Naked.
- A new scent in every Small Batch, numbered by hand. When it's gone, it's gone, unless you vote it back.
- Your jar is stamped with its batch number, so you know exactly when it was made.
- When you text or email us, you get Chad or Holly. Ken Adams has retired.
About the logo
Chad wrote it by hand, with a marker. One of the O's is filled in yellow, and that yellow is exactly 5% of the logo: the same 5% of every order that goes to men's mental health. That one filled "O". Honor one, give to many.
